GIEK puts focus on the renewables sector

The world`s energy markets are changing and renewable energy represents large opportunities for Norwegian companies. Renewable energy is a priority for The Norwegian Export Credit Guarantee Agency (GIEK) and Export Credit Norway, and we will introduce new export financing solutions during the breakfast seminar that could be relevant for your business.

Export Credit Norway and GIEK introduced before Christmas a new joint financing package to simplify the processing of applications for export contracts below NOK 100 million. Applicants now only need to submit one joint application to both Export Credit Norway and GIEK for both loan and guarantee. Export Credit Norway and GIEK will now organize the application processing between themselves.

-The idea of a breakfast seminar on renewable energy was born in a meeting with the network organization INTPOW last fall. INTPOW is an important partner for a sector we frequently work with and which is one of the priorities in GIEK’s new letter of allocation for 2015. GIEK also has a separate unit working on renewable energy, so this is a sector we aim to be proactive in, says Øyvind Ajer, Director Energy and Industry at GIEK.

The breakfast seminar will also mark the beginning of a nationwide tour to make small and medium size enterprises across the country more familiar with the public policy implementation system for export financing.

-Throughout 2015, Export Credit Norway and GIEK plan to visit banks and local companies, and host seminars in all the country’s 19 districts, says Ajer.

If your company has clients abroad or has plans to enter international markets, do not miss out on this breakfast seminar.

You are welcome to join the breakfast meeting at Eksportkreditt Norway’s offices in Oslo or follow the presentations online from 8.30 am. Log-on details will be provided to the participants.
