Country risk
The country risk classification measures the country credit risk and the likelihood that a country will service its external debt.
Are you considering entering into contracts abroad?
Our overview of country risk is a tool for exporters, banks, and investors who are assessing whether to enter into contracts abroad.
On the page for each country, you can see the risk classification for credit and payment risk, according to the OECD’s risk classification. This ranges from 0 (high‑income countries) to 7 (countries with the highest payment risk).
Contact us as early as possible for advice on financing and risks related to, among other things, currency or political conditions in the country.
The risk assessment is solely an evaluation of the country’s ability or willingness to pay—not an assessment the country’s political or economic system.
