Eksfin and Credit Agricole are financing four high-tech offshore wind vessels

The company Windward Offshore, which is based in Germany, has ordered four advanced offshore wind vessels from Vard. Two of the ships are built at Vard Brattvåg in Norway, while two ships will be delivered from Vard Vung Tau in Vietnam. Eksfin is loan financing the four ships in collaboration with the bank Credit Agricole. For the ships that are built in Vietnam, Norwegian maritime equipment deliveries are the basis for Eksfin’s participation.

Export of Norwegian maritime equipment

For the two vessels being built in Vietnam, Vard’s own deliveries constitute the lion’s share of the Norwegian deliveries: Design package, battery package, electrical equipment and installations, bridge equipment, communication equipment and crane (Seaonics). The company Brunvoll supplies thrusters. Other Norwegian suppliers are Sperre, Møre Safety and Ulmatec. The vessels will be 87.5 m long and 19.5 m wide, and have cabin space for 120 people. The ships will be equipped with battery-hybrid technology and 4x Methanol-ready engines from MAN.
